This Aging, Gentle Giant is Looking for a Home
Otto is a 90 pound Shepherd/Bloodhound/Lab mix and approximately 8 years old.
He was abandoned at his former owner's place of employment after the former owner was fired from his job. This handsome boy was very overweight at 110 pounds when he arrived at Finding Shelter but is now on a healthy diet and has lost 20 pounds. He looks and feels great and has just a little more weight to lose. Otto has a laid back and sweet personality and really loves being around his people, but will nap on the couch while you are at work or running errands. He would be great in a laid back adult home or a home with gentle, older kids as he is a senior. He would be great in a home with someone who is retired and needs a buddy to relax on the couch with! Otto is affectionate and happy and needs the love of a forever home! I have met Otto several times and he is always a perfect gentleman!!
Here is a bit more about Otto that the great people at Finding Shelter would like you to know:
Major personality traits: Friendly, laid back, playful for short periods. Total couch potato!
Health status: Allergies. Treated for past ear infections.
Interaction with dogs: Playful with other medium or large dogs with similar energy level. Not recommended with small dogs.
Interaction with cats: NOT RECOMMENDED. Otto has a very high prey drive with cats.
Child requirements: Otto is friendly with children, but would be best in a home with older children due to his size and being a senior.
Fence requirements: Physical fenced yard preferred.
General activity level: Low to Moderate.
Work schedule best suited for: Flexible.
Leash manners: Good. Will pull at first because he is excited to meet new people!
Crate Training: Fully crate trained.
House Breaking: Fully housebroken.
Degree of training needed: Low. Otto is very well behaved and loves to lunge around the house after getting exercise or playing. He spends his days making himself very comfortable on the couch or dog beds. He is a good boy!
